Joshua Dalton - Central Cabbarus HS
Joshua Dalton had a stellar year as a senior for Central Cabbarus. His star-studded Central Cabarrus High School squad went undefeated and won the 3A NCSAA State Championship. Dalton showcased his athleticism and size, throwing it down high at the rim all season. Dalton averaged 12pts, 8rebs a game on his way to all-state honors.
Dalton moved to Concord from Virginia in the Summer of 2023. He was joining an undefeated Central Cabarrus squad, so his addition only bolstered their odds of repeating at states. Immediately, the combination of Dezmond Kent Jr. and Dalton would be a fierce frontcourt for any team to come up against. This fierce rim-protecting duo allowed for Head Coach Jim Baker to press teams to death. Central forced over 20 turnovers a game, and this quick style of play only complemented Dalton’s game.
Throughout the season, Dalton’s gained more attention. ”2024 Joshua Dalton (Central Cabarrus) has been a force today. Finding the open spots in the defense and always ready for the lob, showing his ability to finish strong at the rim. Really competing today, Patrick O’Brien, Phenom Hoops Scout said.”
College recruitment was not picking up as quickly as some may have expected, but by the end of the season, Dalton had gained 5 D1 Scholarship offers to Stentson, Chattanooga, and more. This was due to more eyes being on Dalton in the postseason. Dalton received the 3A Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament award.
Currently, Joshua Dalton is attending Prolific Prep in California, but an announcement will be coming soon on where he will play college basketball.
